The LightningEdge Operating System (LE-OS) provides an expandable carrier-class software infrastructure that integrates tightly with the LE-3300’s fully programmable network processor unit architecture. LE-OS delivers consistent benefits across all Ethernet access and aggregation applications, including carrier-class (“hard”) QoS, supported Ethernet/MPLS features, Scalability, Security, and Resiliency.

Efficient, resilient, and modular, LE-OS is purpose built to address the carrier-class requirements demanded by Carriers and Service Providers. The LE-OS operating system’s real-time-kernel and distributed-processing architecture delivers reliability and high availability by protecting against complete operating system and module failures. Multi-layered system software architecture allows for separation of management, control, and data plane. This separation of layers ensures intelligent fault recovery while addressing customer’s stringent uptime demands.

The LE-OS operating system is supported across the entire World Wide Packets portfolio. With LE-OS users can take advantage of a common control interfaces (CLI, SNMPv1/v2c/v3 etc.) and Management Information Base (MIB). This allows operators to deploy services faster and improve productivity and efficiency by leveraging existing personnel training.
